Sitting on the steps during oral argument.

The A2A team went to Washington, DC to provide assistance to Alan Gura, the attorney who argurd the Heller side before the Supreme Court. We participated in two of the preparatory moot courts and kept up Alan's spirits. He said we were a great help.

David got up at 4 am and managed to get a seat in the actual courtroom (and could see and hear the court in action), Joe got up at 7 and managed to get one of the last seats in the "lawyers lounge' (and could hear real-time audio), and Clayton got up at 7 but had to circulate through the crowd at the base of the courthouse steps. Clayton had several "vigorous" discussions with gun rights opponents and gave several interviews to the press. It was a awe inspiring day for all three of us.

The judges questions lead us to be mildly optimistic.

The amicus brief effort cost A2A about $40,000 (a bit less than we projected). We need to raise about $10,000 in tax-deductible contributions in order to break even. If you can, please donate.

So when is "Academics for Second Amendment Incorporation vs. the States" going to be writing an amicus brief for McDonald vs. City of Chicago?
